How to fix a frayed thread or stitchUpdated 5 days ago
While durable, stitching is not immune to wear and tear. That, and even though items are crafted with care to meet our high standards, unfortunately fine finishing details can be overlooked occasionally.
If you see frayed edges or loose threads, there's an easy fix: Trim the thread with nail clippers.
That should do the trick! If it doesn't, here's what will:
- Light a match or get a lighter going.
- Very briefly bring the heat source close to the thread. It usually takes only a quick pass by the flame to seal the thread—you'll see the thread react to the flame before the leather or ribbon does.
